Judges must maintain an objective view of the fight, focus on points, and not score based on how loud the crowd gets or how much power/damage each fighter receives. We do not want to reward strikes that exceed semi-contact.
Three judges will sit at the ringside and score each bout based on a 10-point must system. The winner gets 10, and the loser gets 9 or less if point deductions occur or fundamentals are not demonstrated (conditioning, defense).
Bouts will be judged on who lands the most strikes/points in the designated areas based on the judges’ discretion.
Strikes earn more points in the following order:
Most : Sweeps (in clinch) > Knees > Body / Legs > Head : Least
Excessive head contact will be detrimental to the score. mix it up
Effective Clinching is scored highly
Pummeling and gaining positioning, kneeing target areas earns points
Sweeps must have one fighter fall while the other stays on their feet (both fall = null)
Ducking out of a clinch is detrimental to scoring (can result in the knee to the head)
Blocking knees with forearms is detrimental to scoring
Hip tossing is detrimental to scoring
Healing tripping is detrimental to scoring
Kneeing the opponent in the groin is detrimental to scoring
Good defense can boost score (checking kicks, parry punches / teeps, feinting,
If rounds 1 & 2 are won by a fighter, the win will go to him/her.
It will not be judged on who the crowd is chanting for on one's "showboating", etc.
If judges rule that a participant is intentionally trying to hurt someone or hurts someone resulting from a ffull-contactblow that participant will be disqualified. (This will be at the judge’s discretion, majority rule.).
Full protective gear is Mandatory - approved head gear, mouth piece, groin protectors, shin guards, handwraps and foot pads must be worn.
All strikes must be in designated striking areas. These are the front head area, the front body area, inside and outside of the thigh. No groin strikes. If there is a draw in a match, there will be an extra round to determine a winner.
If a leg kick is thrown and it is blocked with the shin portion of the leg...it is not a point.
If a knee is thrown to the body but is blocked, it is not a point. All techniques must land in the designated striking area to be counted as a point.
Point Dedication or Possible Disqualifications
Too Much Contact- Reminder, all techniques must be controlled with semi-contact only.
Use of profanity and unprofessionalism.
Checking in fighters
Each fighter will check at the judge's table before going to their corner
Roll call each fighter to make sure it’s the right one.
Judges will make sure each fighter has proper gear (16oz gloves (exception below), shinguards, headguard, mouthpiece, groin cup (males)
For fighters under 18 and under 120 lbs, they can have 14-12oz gloves, but they both must have the same size.
If the fighters gloves seem worn out, or an off-brand that does not seem like 16oz, please tell them to change their gloves, they are aware that this is a possibility so its ok.
After they are verified, read their name off and point to the corner they should go to (red/blue)
